Streetworks Units List

There are 16 units of competence with the New Roads and Street Works Act. LA is for Supervisors and Operators, Units O1-O8 are relevant to operatives, and Units S1-S7 are relevant to Supervisors.

See below are the relevant units for each role.

Operatives:

· LA (Location and avoidance of underground apparatus) – Unit 1

· O1 (Signing, lighting and guarding) – Unit 2

· O2 (Excavation in the highway) – Unit 3

· O3 (Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials) – Unit 4

· O4 (Reinstatement and compaction of sub base and base) – Unit 5

· O5 (Reinstatement of cold lay tarmac) – Unit 6

· O6 (Reinstatement of hot lay tarmac) – Unit 7

· O7 (Reinstatement of concrete slabs) – Unit 8

· O8 (Reinstatement of modular surfaces) – Unit 9

Supervisors:

· S1 (Monitoring Signing, lighting and guarding) – Unit 10

· S2 (Monitoring Excavation in the highway) – Unit 11

· S5 (Monitoring Reinstatement of bituminous materials) – Unit 14
